Your umbrella of protection.

Halo is a product worked on in Collaboration with CAGE Bio that forms an invisible barrier on hands that repels germs. First of it’s kind, Halo focuses on supporting the microbiome while offering a solutions to alcohol based hand sanitizers.

My role

As a key contributor to the project, my role was focused on revolutionizing the company's packaging approach by designing a new product form. Through my expertise in stimuli creation, I conducted comprehensive consumer interviews to understand their preferences and expectations. Furthermore, I established a strategic partnership with a prototyping firm to bring these innovative concepts to life.

Stimuli Synthesis

  • :The product will be “stored” in pockets, on keys, in purses/bags, in the car and on desks/countertops. The product needs to be small in size, "why do a need a big product for such a small area (your hands") It must fit into palm of hand, about less than 4 in tall and thin profile.

  • The form should be familiar to user but have an element of uniqueness (It should not remind the user of standard form such as portable Purell containers and though graphic, package and product design)

  • This can be achieved by the product (pastes or solids), non-accidental dispensing, tight seals in packaging

•Note Worthy: Product must look beautiful and fun (rainbow, cosmetic)

  • "This product does something (repels germs) that no other product does, so it can't look like just another product" Julie - We need to stress uniqueness in form and user experience BUT it cannot be so unique that it is unfamiliar to the user.

  • The umbrella imagery is powerful and resonates with consumers to communicate repelling germs. It is critical to use the packaging real-estate.
